ViSUAL TASK 1 /  NL (there is only ONE task but 4 different parts as we develop the image)

PART 3:

The next step is to pick up 1 country from your list (it can also be your own). Then choose three ‘terms/words’ that are appealing to you to work with. After doing this, you will be creating an image. Use de three words as start point to develop the final image.

There are two possibilities, either you agree with that description of the STEREOTYPE of you DO NOT. Both are fine, you are complete entitled to your meaning.

1-      If you agree with the term you choose then you will be creating a MODERN a new image of it to be able to communicate the same message in a much more modern way. For example: CHEESE for the Netherlands. They usually draw these terrible old fashion drawings of the cheese with big holes in them. OUR CHEESE DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THIS. But I agree, The Netherlands should be known for its great cheese. THEN you will create a new image of the CHEESE! :) How would you be selling Dutch cheese as an image to be appealing to tourists?

2-      If you do not agree with that STEREOTYPE…why would you like to change it? What you do to replace it? DO you have new ideas? Other ideas about that country? Experiences that you would like to see in an IMAGE? Then you use that as start point.

Create your own image now!

Just the way YOU want it to look like.  That image that you would like to see, the image that people will recognize that country from.

There are some requirements of that image. It has to be graphic because it has to be suitable to reproduce if you would like to use it for advertising your country!

That is why it could not be more than ONE or TWO colors. Think very careful which colors you want to choose to be associated with that country.

We would like to see images made in ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR (not a requirement), if you are not familiar with that software it is also possible to make it digital any other way (another software or Photoshop for example or even making a photo) but be sure you make a good quality document to be uploads to our VIWO Blog.

THE IDEA OF THIS TASK IS TO SHARE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE OUR THINKING PROCES! PLEASE SHARE NOTES< COLLAGES< SCHETCHES < ANY OTHER VISUAL INFORMATION WITH US!

3-      TAG your post with your name / also write down the three words you have chosen to build your image from

              REQUIREMENTS:

Resolution max. 150 ppi. / max. amount of pixels 800 x 800

4-      File formats: JPG, PNG and GIF.

5-      Add the label of your school and Visual Task 3 / NL

PART 4:

Please print your image in the middle of a white paper. Be sure your image is not bigger dan 20 cm x 20 cm and take it with you to The Netherlands. We will use that image to be working as a group when you come visit in May.
